USFN encourages its members to take a direct hand in shaping the future of the association. Every member of USFN, reaching to the top grade of leadership where members fill vital positions on the councils, boards and committees that govern the organization and raise the visibility of USFN worldwide.

USFN’s highest governing authority, the USFN Council, comprises of 16 USFN members. Five of these members form the Executive Committee, which includes USFN’s President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, immediate Past President etc. The President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer are elected office and each has a term of two years. The remaining spots on the Council serves a four‐year term.

Global Leadership on Critical Computing Issues

Establishment of the USFN Council put in place a leadership structure to govern the USFN’s internal activities. USFN has also worked tirelessly to establish its position as a leader in the Food Science & Technology community through the creation of geographically distributed councils in India, Europe, and Africa. These councils strive to increase awareness of USFN and its wide range of regional activities, from high‐quality conferences, Workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures to logistical support to help increase the number of professional and student chapters worldwide.

USFN has also led the way in supporting the professionals in the field of food science & technology through the creation of four boards to manage USFN’s products and services. Composed of numerous volunteer committees and subgroups, these boards aim to maximize the benefit of USFN’s offerings for students, educators, professionals, academicians and the vast number of researchers and practitioners at work around the globe.

Publications Board has direct responsibility for the production and of all USFN publications.

Education Board develops computer curriculum for all educational levels and provides self‐assessment procedures, home study courses, and Short Term Training Programme, Workshops, Guest Lectures professional development TechTalks.

Practitioners Board focuses on products and services that support and enhance the professional and technical development of practicing professionals in the field of Food Science & Technology.

Exerting Influence in Public Policy and Diversity

Drawing its experience, USFN has moved to the forefront in helping to shape public policy worldwide. USFN’s councils in India, Europe, Africa and Asia work toward these same goals, fostering informed policy decisions that will benefit researchers and practitioners as well as the society at large.

Get Involved

As a recognized and respected leader in the field of Food Science & Technology, USFN seeks to put its stamp on those areas that most affect its members, from education to publications to public policy to diversity. To accomplish the goals of this ambitious agenda, we need to enlist our members help. USFN members must step up and volunteer for positions on the many committees, boards, and councils discussed above.

ARTICLE 1. Name

This organization shall be called the Universal Society of Food and Nutrition (USFN), Inc.

ARTICLE 2. Purposes

USFN a non-profitable professional association is an international scientific and educational organization meant for research and development in the field of Food Science & Technology, serving both professional and public interests by fostering the open interchange of information and by promoting the highest professional and ethical standards.

ARTICLE 3. Membership

Section 1. Eligibility

Any Student, professional or institution subscribing to USFN and eligible for membership in accordance with USFN Constitution and Bylaws will become a member upon the acceptance of the application for membership.

Section 2. Classes of Membership.

In the Bylaws the qualifications and privileges of the classes of membership are defined. The terms “Member” and “Member of the USFN” appearing without a qualifier shall refer only to members of classes that have voting rights at the USFN level.

Section 3. Admonition, Suspension and Expulsion.

A member of the USFN may be admonished, suspended or expelled for demonstrating lack of integrity, or for other reasonable cause. A former member of the USFN who was expelled from membership can become a member only after approval of the application by an affirmative vote of at least three-fourths of all members of the Council. A member may be dropped or suspended for non-payment of dues as provided in the Bylaws.

ARTICLE 4. Officers

Section l. Titles and Limitations on Authority.

The President, Vice-President, and Secretary/Treasurer are the officers of USFN. Each officer of the USFN shall be bound by any action taken by the Council or the USFN, and shall have such additional authority and duties as may be conferred by the Bylaws or resolution of the Council.

Section 2. The President.

The President shall act as chair of the Executive Committee and of the Council and shall appoint the chairs of all other committees, except as otherwise provided in this Constitution and Bylaws.

Section 3. The Vice-President.

In the temporary absence of the President, the Vice-President shall act as chair of the Executive Committee and of the Council. In the absence of both President and Vice President, the Council shall elect a President pro-tem from among its membership to act for a period to be determined by the Council.

Section 4. The Secretary/Treasurer.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall keep and maintain the records of all proceedings , Collaborations and meetings of USFN, the Council, and the Executive Committee, and the minutes of meeting. The Secretary/Treasurer shall conduct the correspondence of USFN Association and shall give due notice of all meetings of the members of the Council, and of the Executive Committee. The Secretary/Treasurer shall provide for custody of the original of this Constitution and of the Bylaws, and of the amendments thereto.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall keep and maintain accurate accounts of USFN, and the dues and other sums collected, are properly approved bills are paid, and that financial statements and budgets are prepared. The Secretary/Treasurer shall render to the Council or the Executive Committee, as required, an accurate account of all transactions and of the financial condition of the USFN.

ARTICLE 5. Executive Committee

Section l. Composition and Authority.

The Executive Committee shall consist of the President, the Vice-President, the Secretary/Treasurer, the Past President and other members of Council as prescribed by the Bylaws.

The Executive Committee shall appoint representatives of USFN for specific purposes, and shall in general manage the affairs of USFN between Council meetings except in those matters for which Council action is required by the Constitution or Bylaws

Section 2. Authority to Act Without Meeting.

The notice and the voting of the members of the Committee may be by mail, telephone, telegraph, electronic mail, or personally, or by any combination of these, and notice by mail or telegraph shall be deemed given when sent to the Committee member's last mailing address. A record of the notice and of the voting and of the manner in which the action was taken shall be noted in the minutes of the Committee.

Section 3. Place of Meeting.

Meetings of the Executive Committee shall be at the Zonal office of USFN, or at the place of and in connection with USFN and its HeadQuarters.

ARTICLE 6. Council

Section 1. Membership.

All Council members must be the Members of USFN. The Council shall consist of the Officer Bearers of USFN, the Past President, and five others as prescribed by the Bylaws of the Association.

Section 2. Authority and Duties.

The Policies of USFN will be formulated by the Council and the execution is generally supervised by the officers of USFN. Each Council member shall represent the members and the best interests of the Association.

Section 3. Meetings.

The Council shall meet at least twice a year, usually at meetings of USFN, and otherwise upon the call of the Executive Committee or of any five members of the Council.

Meetings of the Council shall be at the HeadQuarters of USFN . Actual meetings of the Council twice each year are required by this Section. Actual meeting of the Council is also required for Council action pursuant to the following provisions of the Constitution: Section 4 of Article 3 and Section 1 of Article 12.

Section 4. Annual Report.

The Council shall report annually to the members of USFN either by mail or through the medium of one of USFN publications which is sent to all members.

Section 5. Annual Budget.

Each year the Council shall adopt an annual budget for the guidance of the fiscal affairs of USFN for the following fiscal year.

Section 6. USFN Code of Professional Ethics.

A Code of Professional ethics will be given by the council to adopt, maintain, enforce and conspicuously publish and display to all members, which shall be binding on all members of USFN.

ARTICLE 7. Elections

The President, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer are required to fill vacancies for the Members-at-Large on the Council as provided in Article 6, Section 1 and Article 8, Section 1 of the Constitution, shall be elected in each even-numbered year by the Members of USFN. The constituency eligible to vote for other members of Council shall be defined in the bylaws. Balloting shall be conducted and recorded as provided in the bylaws.

No person may hold two Council positions.

ARTICLE 8. Tenure

Section 1. Council Members.

If any vacancy arises in an office the Council shall fill it by appointment until the next regular election unless otherwise prescribed by the Bylaws.

Section 2. Committees.

The President determines the terms of office of all committee chairmen and members of Committees of USFN except as otherwise provided in these Constitution and Bylaws and may be terminated at any time by the President.

ARTICLE 9. Nominations

Members shall be notified of nominations for officers as provided in the Bylaws. Prior to distribution of the ballot, nominations by petition of at least one percent of the Members of the constituency shall be received and entered on the ballot in the manner described in the Bylaws.

ARTICLE 10. Association Meetings by Ballot

With respect to any question or vote required by law to be submitted to or taken by the Members of USFN at a meeting of the Members, the timely mailing of the ballot or other notice to each Member as given to the Secretary. The return of the ballot shall be deemed a proxy directed to the Secretary authorizing and directing the Secretary to vote the ballot as marked. Each Member of the Association, however, shall have the privilege of attending in person at the time and place stated in the ballot or other notice for the opening and counting of the ballots, and the Member may cast a vote personally instead of by mailed ballot.

ARTICLE 11. Bylaws

Bylaws may be adopted or amended by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of all the members of the Council. The Council shall have the authority to interpret the Bylaws.

ARTICLE 12. Amendments

Section 1. Certificate of Incorporation.

The Certificate of Incorporation may be amended pursuant to resolution adopted by:

1. A two-thirds vote of all the members of the Council taken at an actual meeting thereof or of their proxies as provided in Section 3 of Article 6 of this Constitution, and

2. The affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the Members balloting, provided that ballots are received from at least twenty percent of the Members of the Association.

Section 2. Constitution.

This Constitution may be amended by an affirmative vote of at least two-thirds of the Members balloting, provided that ballots are received from at least ten percent of the Members of USFN. The Secretary shall renumber the articles and sections of the Constitution and Bylaws as may be occasioned by amendments of insertion and deletion.

Section 3. Notification.

Any additions or changes in the Certificate of Incorporation, the Constitution or the Bylaws shall be reported by the Secretary to the membership by mail or by publication in one of USFN publications received by all members.

Contribution of USFN Towards the Advancement in Food Science & Technology to the Nation

Introduction

Society is demanding that companies, both public and private sectors serve for a social purpose. To prosper over time, every company must not only deliver financial performance, but also show how it makes a positive contribution to the society. USFN is on its own way in making a positive contribution to the society.

USFN – Universal Society of Food and Nutrition is one of the world’s largest non-profitable professional associations meant for research development and promotion in the field of Food Science & Technology governed by Technoarete Research And Development Association.

USFN provides a world class stage to the professionals, academicians and research scholars to share their ideas and publish their research works by Organizing International Conferences, International Workshops, Seminars, Guest Lectures, Symposia etc. USFN expects to make innovations happen with research and development that are pursued under the purpose of contribution to the society.

Objective of USFN

The major objective of USFN is the career development of faculties and the personality development of the students and the overall development of the technical education and society.

USFN provide a world class platform to researchers to share the research findings by organizing International Conferences.

USFN help dissemination of their work through publications in a journal or in the form of conference proceedings or books.

1) Importance of Scientific Conferences ( Knowledge Sharing)

India is among the top most countries in the world in the field of scientific research. India ranks second in terms of contribution to high-quality scientific research.

In recent years, people’s awareness of Food Science & Technology has been declining. The assumable reasons are that the latest Food Science & Technology are becoming more and more sophisticated and complicated and the fact that people are becoming less aware of Food Science & Technology since scientific and technological achievements have come to permeate very deeply among people.

Therefore, in order to help the people concretely understand Food Science & Technology as well as its achievements, Scientific conferences are important. USFN is organizing these scientific conferences in different parts of the country for the welfare and development of the student community and society.

The impact of technological interventions on individual people, communities and the environment must also be carefully considered.

To do this, science needs to become more multidisciplinary and its practitioners should continue to promote cooperation and integration between the social and natural sciences by organizing scientific conferences, what USFN is promoting and sharing the knowledge of research professionals and scientists by organizing scientific conferences.

2) Globalizing Innovations

The advancement in the field of Food Science & Technology has given birth to globalization. In such a global scenario the role of the universities has to be redefined.

Universities are no longer centres of learning, established in isolation from the main stream of social happening. The university will continue to be the key institution, where fundamental research of knowledge has to be nurtured.

USFN is providing a huge opportunity to these universities/Institution to collaborate for conducting conferences, publishing research works in our high impact factor journals, conducting faculty development programmes etc.

Food Science & Technology are key drivers to development, because technological and scientific revolutions underpin economic advances, improvements in health systems, education and infrastructure.

3) Platform to Academicians

Scientific Conference aims to bring together and provide a platform to Researchers, Scientists and Academicians as well as Industrial Professionals from all over the globe to present, share and exchange their research results and developmental activities about all parts of earth sciences and .

Conferences are the main platform to the academicians to share their knowledge and ideas .

USFN is providing a world class stage by organizing International conferences which aims at providing a platform to students, scientists, academicians, researchers, and industrial experts to share their knowledge and ideas.

Since our establishment USFN is committed towards its tag line to connect researchers and innovators across the world through sharing of knowledge and mutual cooperation for incubation.

To streamline our journey we collaborated with renowned institutes, colleges, universities and research centers to serve them through our vibrant network of wizards of science.

5) Opportunities to Minorities

USFN provide a huge opportunity to minority students by providing scholarships. USFN will grant fund for the minority research scholars for completing their research works.

6) Encouraging Differently abled

USFN encourages and motivates the differently-abled by creating awareness in the higher education system and provide necessary guidance and counseling.

USFN create awareness about the needs of differently-abled persons, and other general issues concerning their learning.
